Call on Congress to investigate and end the Roundups!

Devil's Garden Wild Horse Territory Round up

On December 15th, 1971, the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act (WFRHBA) was established and passed, unanimously, by Congress to protect wild horses and burros on federal land, placing the countries wild equines under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and U.S. Forest Service (USFS). In May of 2016, with the support of over 600,000 Arizonans, the Salt River Wild Horse Act was passed by the Arizona Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ducey. Today, we call on all Wild Horse and Burro Supporters to petition the United States Congress to suspend ALL upcoming and future roundups. Furthermore, we are calling for an investigation by the United States Congress into the brutal and inhumane mismanagement by the BLM and USFS of our counties Wild and Free-Roaming Horses and Burros. Please, sign the petition and raise awareness by clicking here.

Sponsor Montana

Hello, My name is Montana.

I was rounded up and removed from my home on the Devil’s Garden Plateau Wild Horse Territory, in the Modoc National Forest of Northern Californa with eight of my fellow herd members. I was purchased for one dollar from a United States Forest Service auction and rescued from slaughter. My fellow Devil’s Garden mustangs and I came to Equine Voices Rescue and Sanctuary in December of 2018. We were so lucky to have stayed together. We have found happiness and refugee at the Equine Voices Rescue and Sanctuary ranch in Southern Arizona.
