Prayers For Tiki!!

How can a horse be healthy, happy and vibrant one minute, and then decides to lay down in pain the next? Tiki was rescued in 2006 and has lived a happy life with his best pony friend Mickey. It was always a treat to watch the two of them play tag, rear up and act silly together. On Tuesday May 19th Tiki was rushed to Jackpot Veterinary Clinic to undergo evaluation. He didn't show signs of colic, however, it was clear he had a serious impaction and surgery at his age was not an option. Due to the severity of his condition, he was monitored overnight and was given multiple liters of fluid to avoid dehydration. Tiki is now resting in peace and is galloping in the skies with his other equine companions.

Update On Lucy!!

Lucy arrived today to join her friend Bonnie after spending the last month at AZ Equine Surgical Center for surgery of her recto-vaginal fistula injury. "The first phase of her treatment was a success", says Dr. Taylor. "The second part of her surgery will take place in thirty to sixty days, where at that time we hope her injury will completely heal. Once the second surgery is complete, we will assess any future treatments, but hopefully she will heal completely". A special thank you to Jackie Cuyler, Robert Shapiro and all of you who helped defray Lucy's veterinary expenses, we could not have helped Lucy without you!

With Gratitude,

From all of us at Equine Voices,

especially Lucy!
