Happy In Their New Home!

Mazie & Mimi Have Found Their Forever Home with Adoptive Dad, Stuart!

Mazie and Mimi, mother and daughter burros who were rescued after a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) roundup several years ago, found their forever home with local resident, Stuart Rodes on July 19th. They joined Stuart's mule, Lucy La Mula and burro, Miz Sadie the Lady on his ten-acre property in Rio Rico. Mom and daughter are pictured above, with previously shy Mimi front and center!

Although we miss our burro buddies, we know that they are in their happy place.  Thank you again, Stuart for opening your home and heart to these sweet girls!

We still have six other burros that are looking for THEIR forever homes! If you are interested in sponsoring or adopting any of them, please call us at 520.398.2814 or  visit:

On August 17th, National Nonprofit Day will recognize the positive impact that nonprofit organizations have on our local communities and around the world. Charitable giving reached an all-time high in 2017 as Americans gave more than $400 billion to a wide array of nonprofit organizations.

So, what can you do to recognize those that give their time, their money and their passion to your cause? Here are 5 meaningful ways to celebrate your cause and the impact it makes on those around us.

National Nonprofit Day gives us the opportunity to share our gratitude for those who look beyond the challenges and see what’s possible.
